Reading Task

Hi guys,
I'm back, today I will be presenting to you my reading task for this week. We have been reading a book about racism and this should give you some ideas about what was in it.

Hopefully it give you some ideas about what this book is about and what the text really means.

What do you think about racism?

Speech Intro

Hi everyone,
Welcome back to my blog
This time I will be sharing with you my speech intro, it is about sexism. I hope you like it.

Here it is:
Who wants to help me move this table, me and my friends put our hands up, but they choose four boys. Who wants to help me figure out this equation because I don’t get it, she puts her hand up but they choose the boy.  Where is the nurse said the lady, he was actually standing right infront of her in even in his outfit. Do you think our genders and what we look like dictate who we get to be, who we have to act like? Because I don’t, why do we do this, why do we judge people because of how they look? If you want to be judged for who you really are and what you really act like then don’t stress. Because I’m here to show people the right way to do things and change how other people look at you and me. I’m going to make them look at us like the people we really are.

Comment if you would like to see another paragraph of my speech because I would love to share another one.

My Discrimination Art

Hi everyone,
hopefully you've read my other post about discrimination because I am going to share with you my discrimination art.
This is about racism and I have written a poem to tell you how we should handle this.
Here it is...

Now, ask yourself about what you've heard and why most people don't go talk to the ones who are different. Also ask yourself why do people make racist jokes even if the persons standing right there. I just find it so horrible knowing that so many people in this world are getting bullied by their skin colour, don't you?

Have you ever received a form of discrimination and if you have, how did it make you feel?

Technology (Food)

Hey everyone,
For this blog post I will be talking to you about our technology classes again and I will be telling you all about the food class in technology.
First of all, these are the some of the types of food I've been making at tech:
- Tortilla's
- Pizza on a bun
- Breakfast in a jar
- Chicken rolls
And so much more :)

I've learn't so much more in these food workshops about how to cook and also how to make sure that your staying healthy while you cook. So you don't get food poisoning or something like that.
Tips:
- Wash your hands
- Put high risk foods in the fridge and low risk foods in the pantry
- Have your hair tied back if it's long

I love learning how to cook new things and I think this is a very good experience for me.

Do you like to cook?
Have you ever cooked any of the things on my list?

Thanks for reading my blog post and I hope you come back to see more of the cool stuff I've learn't at my school.

My Goals For Term 2

Welcome back to my blog,
Today I will be telling you about what my goals are for term two.
So my goals are...

To always get my work done on time.
This is a big one, to do this goal I will try and stay concentrated while I'm trying to do my work, even if that means I have to do some work at home so I am able to stay on top of my work.

To manage my time wisely.
So at our school we have a timetable and we can choose what we do in each session, of course we still have our maths, reading and writing workshops but we also have our fitness, followup, problem solving and blog posts to do as well. So I just need to do my work well but fast so I have more time to focus on those things that challenge me most.

To get my work done to a very high standard.
I am going to try extra hard this term to make my work so good and interesting that it just wants to make the reader want to read more. Also with my maths I will try to make it very easy to understand what strategy I am trying to use.

To ask those hard questions.
What I mean by hard questions is that I am trying to convince myself that it is alright to not know things and ask questions because if I don't then how will I find out what I need to do or the answer to what I'm confused about.

Hopefully you enjoyed hearing about my goals.

Do any of these goals relate to your goals for term two?

Discrimination

Our PBL for this term is about discrimination.

Here is our driving Question:
How can we speak up about Discrimination?

There are so many types of discrimination such as...
Sexism
Racism
Ageism
Religion
Ableism
And many more.

Today our teaches judged us by our age or gender to show us what many people are going through in this world. It made me feel sad and disappointed. They let the boys sit up on the chairs and us girls had to sit on the floor, but then after that us girls got to have five minutes extra play.
This is called sexism. (Sexism is like picking one over the other or being kind of bias because of their gender)

This year we all get to pick what one we want to speak up about and show in our presentation. We will be going live so all the other schools can watch us perform in their class rooms over a screen.
There are different ways we can present our work and these are what we get to pick from:

Poetry slam
Podcast
Drama
Ted talk
 And that's all

Questions:
If you were doing this task how would you present your work?

Be an Up-stander Not a By-stander.
