Book Review - Reading Task

Kia Ora everyone
Welcome back to my blog.
This week in reading we were using the Fantastic's again and detecting whether the author is using positive or negative intent to impact the reader. My create task was to make a book review about the book Wonder.

Here is what I've done:

Maths Task - Area & Perimeter

Hello!!
My maths task this week had two different questions that you can choose from and I just did both because I had time.

In the first one we were learning about the perimeter and area of the backfield and then we tried it with and without different things such as the hall.

The next one was about the amount of people n our Kaupeka hub compared to the rest of the school. Turns out that our hub is more that one fifth of the whole school.

Here are some photos of my working out:

What is your favourite maths strategy to use while solving the area of something?

Writing Task - Hansel & Gretel

Kia ora, thanks for checking out my blog.

For my first writing task for this term we have been rewriting the start of the book Hansel & Gretel. We also have been focusing on the Fantastic's just like my reading.

We looked at a few different writing methods such as repetition for effect, adjectives and similes. We have also been making sentences that have things to do with tasting and smelling (basically all the senses).

Finished Task:

How would you describe the taste of your favourite lolly?

Reading Task - Fantastics

Hello everyone, I'm back.

For the first week of this term we have been learning about the fantastic's. It's basically what you would look for in books and your own writing.
They make you more aware about the senses and things while your writing a story.

For this task we had a slide with the story of little red riding hood and we had to find sentences that included the fantastic's such as:

With a smile and a swing of her cape. She skipped energetically through the dense undergrowth of the woodland.

That sentence is an action

Then we had to use other stories and do the same thing, here are the sentences that I picked up:

Do you think you can make up a sentence that includes the fantastic Imagining?
