Narrative Writing Template

Collaboration definition

Welcome to my Blog.
I will be talking to you about our schools 6 C's.
They are Creativity, Communication, Citizenship, Character, Critical thinking and Collaboration.
In my group we all got our own little things to search up about and I did mine one collaboration.

This is how I described it:


Collaboration
Collaboration is about working together, because people are always going to be better as a team. To be collaborative you have to be respectful to others. You need to include everyone and their ideas, make sure that everyone is on the same page and that everybody is happy with what your doing.

I could've written a whole story about this but I only had a small box to write in. Hopefully another time I could write about another one of our 6 C's and I would also love to hear your thoughts on the word collaboration as well.

Reading Task #6

Stanford Course - Mathematical Mindset

Kia ora everyone.
For the past month I've been taking the Stanford online course.
It's taught me so many new things that I didn't know about maths.
It's been very interesting learning about maths so I'd like to share some of my findings with you.

Lesson 1: Knocking down the Myths about Maths.
In the first lesson it showed me that all these stereotypes and myths about maths. Lot's of people think that your either born with maths intelligence or your not, which is not true. We all have so much more we can learn, there's no stopping. Whatever level you are in at maths there is always going to be something more to learn, because you can never learn too much maths.


Lesson 2: Maths and Mindset
In maths we always need to have a good mindset, no matter your mood, whatever the time is, having a growth mindset is needed. With a fixed mindset your never going to learn something new, your brain won't be able to grow and work your brain muscles. I think that one of the most important things in maths is to have a growth mindset. Because if you don't have a growth mindset then it's likely that your never going to achieve your toughest goals yet. Also that spreading good messages has a really good impact on how people learn. It shows them that they can always improve and that they can do anything if they try, try and try again.


Lesson 3: Mistakes and Speed
I think that you shouldn't have to rush your maths. Because then you don't have time to deeply think, you don't have time try new strategy's and you don't have time to struggle. All these things are important so why would you not let them work their magic and do what they're supposed to. You need time to try every strategy until you get the answer and you need the time to be able to think very deeply about the question because if you are a slow thinker how are you supposed to get the answer?


Lesson 4: Number flexibility, Mathematical reasoning and Mindset
I have learnt that when you allow all those extra opinions and ideas from other people into you head then you are able to become stronger. You can have so much ore success when you let the problems go into your head. When other people don't agree with something or have something to say about the way you've done things put that into your head and work out the right answer or answers. Talking to other people can really help and reasoning with other people as well.


Lesson 5: Number Patterns and Representations
In this lesson my thoughts were that I think that everyone should know how much drawing and sketching things out can really help your learning. Even if people think that they would look silly drawing things out because, they shouldn't, it's a really good and efficient way to do your maths. Also, I lave learnt to look at everything closely, look for the big idea in the problem and before you start make sure that everything makes sense to you.


Lesson 6: Maths in Life, Nature and Work
I have learnt that there is maths everywhere. When you really think about it yo will see that there is maths all around you. Like in the title of this paragraph, there is maths in life, nature and work. Also, in the course it asked me about what I thought a good maths app or video game would look like, here were my thoughts. I think that a good maths app or video game would have something for everyone. Because everyone has there own way and pace to things at. It should have a variety of different methods and ways to do things so it's not just one speed maths game or a quick multiplication race. Not just this but it needs an exciting twist to it. Somethings that will hook people in and make people want to play it more often.

Reading Task #4

Hi guys,
here's my second blog for this week.
We read a book called Driving Us Into The Future.
This book is about electric cars vs petrol powered cars.
We had to write three questions that we would ask the author about the book if she was at our school for the day.
